Seeking online portfolio advice

A FOLLOWER SENT ALONG an email titled “Online portfolio sites,” and asking…oh, well…her note follows. My illustration here is from a screenshot after I googled “online portfolio sites.”

“Dear Ed,

Hope all is well. I have a quick question. I’m trying to update my resume/portfolio. What do you know about them? Is there an online portfolio site that is on newspaper editor’s radar more than others?”

I responded that I really knew very little about such sites, but thought it might be helpful if I posted her question here for all to see.

If you have suggestions, please send them along and I will post them as comments.

Try (no www in URL). Another good one is let’s you look at front pages on a given day and has archived special A1s, ie 9/11, hurricanes, etc. Newseum isn’t for portfolio purposes however.

Try LinkedIn. You can place a slideshow of your work on your resume there.
