SCOTT’S BEEN SENDING some interesting pages during the past couple of months…and here’s another.
FROM SCOTT: Hello Ed, hope the holidays were nice to you. Ours were great…just getting buried in snow today. Here’s a page (double-truck) I did a while back as a fun project. I liked parts of it, didn’t like parts of it, but I was pretty pleased with the overall product. Thanks, Scott
FROM ED: Thanks for asking…our holidays were very good here. Wish some of my teams had done better in their bowl games but ya can’t have everything.
Thoughts on the spread you sent:
1. Next time, work v-e-r-y hard to get the faces all the same size. You’re just about there, but some of the mugs are a bit smaller than others. Getting this right just takes patience.
2. I’d have distributed the mugs just a bit more vertically so as not to have that extra black space at the bottom of the mug columns.
3. I like the use of the large photo in the left of the center package.
4. The top of the page is way overdone. Too many elements: the photo, the red type, the outlined white type, the globe and the soccer ball logo. This needs more presence…and fewer elements. I’d have gone with a simpler head treatment, ditched the globe, kept the photo and put the logo elsewhere. Simple….is….good.
How about the rest of you: What would you do with the page?
