I support the approach of placing a pullout in the middle of a leg of type. But the problem with this placement (at the end of a paragraph) is that it may appear to be a small headline instead of a pullout. When I place pullouts, I’m always certain to place it within a paragraph, not at the end.I give readers credit for being able to see the story type below the pullout and to know that the story continues below it.
I’m a bit more concerned about other problems I see here:
1. Trapped white space between the photos at bottom.
2. Floating caption on the bottom left photo.
3. The Ironman package intrudes on the game layout, making it (game layout) dogleg.
4. The beginning of the subhead is repetitive of the lead head.
Love the play you gave the top photo!
