MARC IS BACK WITH MORE. Here are two photo pages on high school graduations, one from last year and one from this year. I’ve placed them side by side so you can compare them more easily. As usual, my comments are below the pages.
I thought I’d send along the opening page to our graduation section from this week’s Beacon. Not sure if you want to use something like this since it’s not a real news page. I also included the page from last year, which I felt was getting a little tired. Instead of reaching for something to illustrate the page this year, I used a photo to do that. I’d be interested to hear if your readers like the evolution.
I don’t know if others will like the change, but I do! The best of the changes is placing quick labels under each photo on this year’s page. On the 2009 page, the labels were at the bottom of the page with numbers in the corners of the photos. That makes readers have to go back and forth, back and forth from the label to the photo to the label to the…well, you get the idea.
The gradient feather on the top and bottom of the larger photo helps, too.
I like it. How about the rest of you?
